Day 3: Meditation

Today’s preparation involves three tasks (25 minutes in total):

  1. Task 1: Practice the guided meditation (10 minutes)

  2. Task 2: Temporal Experience Tracing (TET) training (10 minutes)

  3. Task 3: Complete a few short reflections in your journal (5 minutes)

TASK 1: PRACTICE THE GUIDED MEDITATION

Today, we'll introduce you to a technique that can be beneficial during your DMT experience. This involves a calming 'focused-attention' meditation, where you concentrate on your breathing. Such a focus can serve as a grounding 'anchor' during psychedelic experiences.

Find a comfortable seating position and follow along with the UNITy Guided Meditation, which lasts about 8.5 minutes. You're welcome to practice this meditation as often as you wish.

TASK 2: TRACING YOUR EXPERIENCE

Please follow this link to complete the task. You will need to input your Study ID, which you should have received in an email from us: Temporal Experience Tracing.

TASK 3: REFLECTIONS

In your journal, spend a few minutes reflecting on the following prompts:

  1. What changes do you notice in your body having completed this practice? 

  2. What thoughts came up during this meditation?

  3. Has your intention for the DMT experience evolved since yesterday? How does it feel now?

  4. What do you hope to learn or feel from your upcoming DMT experience?

  5. Note down any questions you have about the ‘Temporal Experience Tracing’ task that you completed.
